How do I whitelist or approve a sender with Postini? |
|
If you have an email account with Postini spam and virus filtering, you can whitelist friendly senders whose multiple-recipient messages may be identified as spam. Examples of this would be if you are on an informal "CC:" mailing list used by friends or business associates. If you do whitelist a sender, you must be extra vigilant to avoid clicking on links which may lead to malicious websites.
Postini will hold spam filtered junk mail messages in quarantine. The only exception to this is for blatant spam that is positively identified (e.g. a message that has been delivered to hundreds of recipients).
There are 4 tabs in quarantine: Junk, Viruses, Delivered and Trash. You should never deliver a message that is quarantined as a Virus.
To deliver and whitelist email addresses for messages in Postini's Junk quarantine:
- click the checkbox on the left side of the message(s)
- click the Deliver button on the right side for a single message, or on the bottom of the page for multiple messages
- Postini will deliver the message, and you will be asked whether to Approve Sender
- click the checkbox on the right, then click the Approve Selected Senders button
If you need to pre-approve a lot of senders:
- click the Approve Senders link on the upper right portion of the screen
- enter each sender you want to approve in the Approved Senders box... separate each address with a comma (,) semicolon (;) or line break
