How do I move a website to a cPanel server?

cPanel hosting If you are ready to step up to the additional control and capabilities of our cPanel servers, we can assist with the move.

We will archive your existing files, move the archive to the new server,  and push DNS changes.

You will need to change nameservers for your domain with your registrar before the changes take effect globally.

Nameservers
ns1.virtualchattanooga.net
ns2.virtualchattanooga.net

After you have changed the nameservers for your domain, you will be able to log in to cPanel and administer your domain, set up emails, etc. Many web professionals are either already familiar with cPanel, or can get up to speed very quickly.

After the nameserver updates, and after the changes have been propagated to your area (could be 5 minutes, could be 48 hours...) you will be able to log in to cPanel at yourdomainname.com/cpanel

You will also be able to access the site via FTP. For minor page changes, you may also use the HTML editor that's embedded into cPanel's file manager.

If you would like spam and virus filtering on the email accounts, we provide Postini filtering for $2.00 per address per month. The filtering is well worth the cost; it stops viruses and controls 99% of spam emails. It's especially important if you are going to publish email addresses on your website.
