I changed my ISP to ATT/Bellsouth, and now I can't send mail!

Outgoing SMTP update!

Please be advised that more and more ISP's are not allowing you to use your own personal or business SMTP servers, (such as mail.mydomain.com, smtp.chatt.net or smtp.chattanooga.net) to send email from an email client program such as Outlook, Outlook Express, Thunderbird, etc. This may be the case if you recently switched ISP's and you cannot send mail.

If you are unable to send mail from your email program such as Outlook, Apple Mail, Thunderbird etc., you should immediately contact your ISP, and ask them for the following info:

  • What should I use for OUTGOING SMTP ?
  • Any additional information or special settings necessary to SEND email from an email client program such as Outlook, Netscape Mail, Apple Mail, etc.
